Meet our Staff
Madonna Bates
Madonna is our office assistant. She came to us through the Senior Resource Center. Madonna brings to Health S.E.T. a multitude of talents with a work background in real estate, nursing homes, hospitals, and doctor offices. It brings her great joy to work with older people as they have much wisdom to offer. Madonna encourages independence for seniors because she believes that "…even though we get older in years does not mean that we give up and allow others to dictate how we live our lives."
Kim Dufraux, DNP, MS, NP-C, RN
Kim worked as a registered nurse in a hospital cardiology unit for 3 years before joining Health S.E.T. She has also worked as a clinical scholar/instructor for Regis and University of Colorado while working in the hospital setting. She obtained her Master’s of Science and Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2006 with a specialty as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Her thesis was on diabetes care in the elderly. Kim loves working now in a community health setting with elders on preventative care. Prior to becoming a nurse she worked as a research technician in medical research at the University of New Mexico and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Jane Gerberding, BSN, RN
Jane has worked as a registered nurse in community health settings for over twenty years. She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Wyoming. Past professional experiences include: working in a health department conducting mobile health clinics for adults, Director of a Head Start Program in Southern Colorado and Director of a County Public Health Nursing Service. Her entire career has been devoted to serving vulnerable populations of all ages.
Daniel Grey, MS, RN
Daniel Grey, from Grand Rapids, Michigan, is the Coordinator of our Health Promotion Clinics. He graduated from Alma College in central Michigan with a bachelor degree in Exercise and Health Sciences. Unsure of where to utilize his knowledge, he answered the call to nursing and entered a two-year master’s program at DePaul University in Chicago. Daniel’s master’s research involved studying the fertility preservation options available to young men before undergoing cancer treatments.
Katie Kerr
Katie Kerr hails from Shippensburg, PA. A recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Katie studied a joint curriculum in Theology and Pre-Medicine. Katie comes to Health S.E.T. through the Colorado Vincentian Volunteers, with whom she is doing a yearlong service project. She is the fourth Vincentian Volunteer to dedicate a year working with Health S.E.T. She hopes that her experiences at Health S.E.T. will help her in discerning a possible future career in medicine.
Maura Martin, BSN, RN
Maura Martin works as a nurse in our Health Promotion Clinics. Prior to coming to Health S.E.T., Maura worked at the VA Hospital and enjoyed working with senior citizens. She has a passion for serving those struggling with the oppression of poverty, sickness and isolation.
Mary Ann May, MA
Mary Ann May is the Development/Volunteer Coordinator. She brings to Health S.E.T. over 25 years of non profit experience including development, volunteer management, board development and grant writing. Mary Ann has a MA in Counseling, and a BA in Psychology. Mary Ann has a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of the elderly, especially those who might not otherwise be remembered. She feels especially on purpose with her life’s work since joining the team at Health S.E.T.
Marian T. Stumpf, MSW, ND, CNS, RN
Marian Stumpf, Nurse Care Manager, has a rich background in teaching, social
work and nursing. She holds an undergraduate degree in English and Education,
a Masters degree in Social Work and a Doctorate in Nursing. Her past work
has included teaching at all levels, working as a social worker in Canada
and the U.S. and nursing in the community with an emphasis on seniors.
She is a gourmet cook, an avid reader and enjoys travel - especially
when it might involve a shopping expedition. Her wonderful family includes
a supportive husband and three young adult children.
Janna Stieg Watkins, MA
Janna Stieg Watkins is the Executive Director of Health S.E.T. She has fifteen years experience in working for non-profit organizations in Colorado and Utah, and has a Master’s degree in Political Science. Prior to working at Health S.E.T., Ms. Stieg Watkins was the Development Director for CWEE (Center for Work Education and Employment) and the Chinook Fund in Denver; and at the Four Corners School for Outdoor Education in Monticello, Utah.
